4P00003-18 Costs and quality in the production of larger chip fractions
The aim of the project is to measure productivity, fuel consumption and costs of chipping and sieving of forest fuels. The study also aims to compare the production of two fractions and several assortment. | |
The study shows that the increased chip size from 100x100 mm to 100x200 mm, gave no difference regarding produced fines, chipping productivity and fuel consumption. Likely a much larger difference in chip size would be needed in order to achieve significant differences. However the results show that the share of produced fines vary between different assortments, where large proportions of branches gives the highest proportion of fines. Link to report (Swedish) |
