4P00001-18 Study of effects of pretreatment of lignin from ethanol production for production of boards
The goal is to investigate whether the developed enzymatic technology for the production of ethanol from forest biomass improves the binding properties of the lignin. | |
The experiments with small additions of sulphate lignin are promising and if presence of dust and odours can be managed, development of board with higher levels of sulphate lignin might be interesting for further studies. The enzymatic treatment introduced for the production of bioethanol from forest biomass does not increase the resulting lignin’s binding capacity enough to significantly improve the bending strength of the board. One possible application for the board is to use it as a sound absorbing component in doors or wall elements. |
