BjÃrn K hemsidan

Processum is working on a large number of projects so since 1 June Björn Källman is employed as R&D engineer in the Chemistry group. He previously workedat MoRe Research, primarily with dissolving cellulose and viscose production.

“I loved math, physics, chemistry and biology at school so it was an easy choice to go for chemistry studies at Umeå University”, says Björn. “I have a Master’s degree in chemistry with orientation biochemistry and plant physiology. I did my Master thesis at Domsjö Fabriker’s innovation unit DomInnova on a new detection method for a tensid which is sprayed onto the dissolving cellulose to make it more reactive.”

“In February 2017 I started working at MoRe as project leader for viscose and spinning. I really enjoyed this job since it was close to the industry, which I find very interesting. My work was order based so I was in contact with customers around the world.”

”I am very happy to work at Processum as R&D engineer”, says Björn. “I will mainly be working with the CNC pilot, which is co-owned by Processum, MoRe, Holmen and Melodea. I look forward to working on nanocellulose which is a really hot topic. It is a good combination of applied research and sustainable development, a major field for the future. It also means that I will continue working with MoRe which is fun.”

What do you like doing in your leisure time?

“I love music and play guitar as well as electric base. I also used to sing in a choir. Another great interest is computer games and role playing such as "pen and paper", where the participants together create a story”, says Björn.
